Hosting Minnesotans’!

      With July 27th, St. James will welcome another youth group to Philadelphia, this one from southern Minnesota. Rushford Lutheran will be joined by youth from a number of other ‘area’ churches for their 4-day visit. Our church was chosen for their 2025 summer mission trip experiences because of our ‘location’ and proximity to Wahington, D.C. their final destination.

We are excited to host nearly 40 youth and adults for their stay. A variety of work projects and activities are planned, including assisting local churches with food pantries and meals, home repairs, etc. On July 29th they will tour center city before heading to Sea Isle City for the afternoon! Games, daily devotions, housing and meals at the church will also be offered as part of our hospitality.

Rushford’s youth director, Kristin Burdey, and Pastor Paul worked together to make this event happen. Two years ago, St. James hosted 13 youth and adults from Wisconsin.
